Main missions

The Civil Engineer Onshore/Offshore is responsible for designing the foundations of wind turbines and associated equipment, taking into account the specific constraints of land and marine sites. They oversee the execution of geotechnical studies, foundation design, installation, and construction of related infrastructure such as access roads and offshore platforms.

They collaborate closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure the quality of work, adherence to deadlines and budgets, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

They also manage geotechnical risks and regulatory constraints throughout the project, proposing innovative technical solutions and ensuring proper coordination of different phases of the project.

Job activities

  • Wind turbine foundation design: Design wind turbine foundations considering site geotechnical characteristics, dynamic loads, and environmental constraints.

  • Geotechnical study supervision: Oversee geotechnical investigation campaigns to assess soil bearing capacity and determine solutions based on the results obtained.

  • Construction work coordination: Coordinate different phases of the construction project, from site preparation to civil engineering works and offshore foundation installation.

  • Subcontractor and supplier management: Select and supervise subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the quality of materials and workmanship, as well as compliance with technical specifications.

  • Site monitoring: Ensure daily site monitoring, supervising work progress, checking installation compliance, and resolving any issues that arise during construction.

  • Risk and compliance management: Identify and evaluate risks associated with civil engineering works and propose mitigation measures to ensure operational safety and compliance with regulations.

  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain project technical documentation, prepare regular progress reports, and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Technological and regulatory monitoring: Stay abreast of technological and regulatory developments in offshore/onshore civil engineering and integrate best practices and the latest standards into ongoing projects.
