Main missions

The Procurement Manager is responsible for designing and implementing a procurement strategy tailored to the specific requirements of the nuclear industry.

This includes identifying suppliers specialized in nuclear equipment and materials, as well as negotiating purchase contracts to secure the best terms while ensuring compliance and product quality.

Job activities

  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop a procurement strategy aligned with operational objectives and nuclear safety standards. This involves analyzing procurement needs, identifying risks and opportunities, and defining supplier selection criteria.

  • Supplier Research and Evaluation: Research and evaluate potential suppliers specialized in nuclear equipment and materials. This activity requires a deep understanding of technical specifications and industry nuclear standards, as well as the ability to assess supplier reliability and compliance.

  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate purchase contracts with selected suppliers to obtain the best commercial terms while ensuring product quality and compliance. This involves defining contractual terms and conditions, managing prices and delivery times, and resolving any issues that may arise.

  • Purchase Order Supervision: Supervise the execution of purchase orders, ensuring follow-up of deliveries and managing stocks to ensure the availability of products needed for nuclear operations. This activity requires close coordination with operational and logistics teams to ensure effective procurement management.

  • Supplier Performance Evaluation: Evaluate supplier performance by analyzing quality, cost, and delivery time indicators, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. This involves collecting and analyzing data on supplier performance, as well as implementing corrective measures in case of non-compliance or underperformance.

Required skills

A Procurement Manager in the field of nuclear energy must have the following skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of equipment and materials used in the nuclear industry.

  • Expertise in commercial negotiation and management of purchase contracts.

  • Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software tools.

  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
