Main missions

The Project Planner collaborates with project managers and stakeholders to develop comprehensive project schedules, incorporating all activities, milestones, and dependencies, and ensuring alignment with project objectives and deadlines.

He/She conducts regular reviews and updates of project schedules, identifying potential risks, delays, and resource constraints, and proposing mitigation strategies to ensure project milestones are met and critical path activities are prioritized.

The Project Planner analyzes project data and performance metrics to assess schedule adherence, resource utilization, and project progress, providing regular reports and recommendations to project management and stakeholders.

Job activities

  • Schedule Development: Develop detailed project schedules, defining tasks, durations, dependencies, and resource requirements, using project management software and scheduling tools.

  • Schedule Maintenance: Regularly update project schedules to reflect changes in scope, resource availability, and project priorities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.

  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and constraints that may impact project schedules, and develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to address them.

  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with project managers and team leaders to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization and availability of human, financial, and material resources throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor project performance against established schedules, tracking progress, deviations, and variances, and providing timely reports and analysis to project stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate schedule updates, risks, and mitigation plans to project stakeholders, including project managers, team members, clients, and regulatory authorities, fostering transparency and collaboration.

Required skills

A Project Planner in the field of nuclear energy must possess the following skills:

  • Proficiency in project scheduling software and tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify schedule risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
