Design Engineer

Main missions

The Design Engineer participates in the design and development of new equipment and systems for nuclear power plants, taking into account safety standards, technical specifications, and operational requirements.

He/She conducts feasibility studies and risk analyses to assess the viability of design projects, identifying technical constraints, potential risks, and alternative solutions.

The Design Engineer collaborates with engineering and production teams to develop detailed design plans, including technical specifications, manufacturing plans, and installation and maintenance procedures.

He/She participates in testing and validation of designed equipment, coordinating test activities, analyzing results, and proposing improvements to optimize system performance and reliability.

Job activities

Design and Development: Designing equipment and systems for nuclear power plants, using modeling and simulation software to create detailed plans and technical diagrams.
Feasibility Studies: Conducting technical studies to evaluate the feasibility of design projects, considering technical, economic, and regulatory constraints.
Risk Analysis: Performing risk analyses to identify potential hazards associated with designed equipment and systems, proposing mitigation measures and safety solutions.
Testing and Validation: Participating in testing and validation of equipment, coordinating test activities, analyzing results, and preparing test reports to document performance and compliance with specifications.
Performance Optimization: Proposing improvements to optimize the performance and reliability of equipment and systems, using analysis and simulation techniques to identify weaknesses and propose improvement solutions.

Required skills

A Design Engineer in the field of nuclear energy must have the following skills:

Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools and 3D modeling.
In-depth knowledge of standards and regulations related to nuclear energy.
Skills in risk analysis and safety management.
Ability to work in a team and collaborate with different departments.
Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
