Main missions

The Offshore Cable Jointing & Termination Inspector supervises and controls all stages of the offshore cable jointing process, from installation to commissioning. They ensure that operations are carried out in accordance with technical specifications, safety standards, and regulations.

They supervise and coordinate cable jointing works, working closely with engineering, construction, and maintenance teams. Regular inspections are conducted to ensure the quality of work and to identify any defects or non-conformities.

The inspector is also responsible for documenting all jointing operations, preparing detailed reports on completed activities, and maintaining inspection and compliance records.

Job activities

  • Supervision of jointing operations: Monitor the installation of electrical cables between wind turbines and offshore substations, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.

  • Quality control of works: Conduct regular inspections to verify the quality of cable jointing and termination works, and identify any defects or non-conformities.

  • Coordination with involved teams: Collaborate with engineering, construction, and maintenance teams to plan and coordinate cable jointing operations, ensuring effective communication between stakeholders.

  • Commissioning monitoring: Monitor the commissioning of electrical cables, verifying their proper functioning and compliance with technical specifications.

  • Documentation and reporting: Prepare detailed reports on cable jointing operations, documenting all stages of the process and keeping inspection and compliance records up to date.

  • Incident and non-conformity management: Identify and report incidents and non-conformities during cable jointing operations, and propose corrective measures to address them.
