Senior Electrical Engineer

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the Electrical Engineering discipline and oversee medium to large projects within the EPC framework. This role requires close collaboration with the customer and effective coordination with the project team to deliver quality, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical Engineering and design team assigned to projects, ensuring all deliverables meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Support the Technical Integrity of electrical systems throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure that all engineering and design activities align with safety, codes, and industry standards.
• Review and approve electrical engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Develop construction plans using computer software like AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
• Provide leadership for design, specification, and procurement of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and protection systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (C&I, Mechanical, Process, etc.) and communicate effectively with clients.
• Support resource allocation and project scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Lead proposal development, cost estimation, detailed engineering, and field support activities.
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards for electrical engineering deliverables.
• Identify challenges and propose innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate electrical engineers.

Responsibilities in Detail

• Prepare and manage deliverables, such as:
  • Electrical Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs)
  • Load Lists and Cable Schedules
  • Panel Board Schedules
  • Motor Control Schematics
  • Power Distribution Layouts
  • Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets
  • Bill of Materials
  • Wiring and Termination Diagrams
  • Grounding and Lightning Protection Plans
  • Electrical System Studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash)
• Conduct technical evaluations of vendor proposals and support procurement activities.
• Participate in meetings, progress reporting, and review sessions as required.
• Provide construction and commissioning support, ensuring a smooth transition from design to operation.

Technical and Industry Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably in EPC projects.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical design standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.) and industry practices.
• Experience with electrical system analysis tools such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools.
• Familiarity with digital tools for project execution, including SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) or similar software.
• Experience with medium and high-voltage systems, motor control centers (MCC), and protection relay settings.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency standards and sustainable electrical system design is an asset.
• Understanding of electrical instrumentation integration with control systems is beneficial.
