Radio Operator

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Rotation: 4×4

Reports to: HSE Co-Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Use radio equipment to communicate with the ACC, wells, fire station, LCMT, Ocreron camps and other remote operations.
  • Monitor emergency frequencies to detect distress calls and respond by sending emergency equipment.
  • Maintain station logs of messages transmitted and received for activities such as crash site, flight test,
  • Fire locations, facility site and control room. Disseminate weather reports and logistics warnings.
  • Perform periodic equipment inspections with IT representative and routine tests to ensure operating standards are met.
  • Turn controls or throw switches to activate power, adjust volume and voice modulation, and set transmitters to specified frequencies.
  • Coordinate radio aspects to locate and contact missing or distressed aircraft.
  • Examine and operate new equipment prior to installation to ensure proper operation.
  • Use sound recording equipment to record signals and preserve broadcasts for purposes such as! analysis by intelligence personnel.
  • Liaise with MNT and Telecom department to repair radio equipment as required, using electronic test equipment, hand tools and power tools.
  • Review applicable radio communications regulations and report violations.
  • Send, receive and interpret code messages
  • Install antennas and mobile communication units during military field exercises.
  • Communicate with receiving operators to exchange transmission instructions.
  • Determine and obtain bearings from signal sources, using direction-finding procedures and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years' experience in the O&G industry.
  • Fluent in Arabic, French and English
  • Familiarity and experience with emergency management
  • The ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and phrases.
  • The ability to speak clearly so that others can understand you.
  • The ability to communicate information by speaking clearly to others.
  • Mastery of MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills, flexible and outgoing.
