Summary

The QA/QC third party inspector shall be responsible for managing all the mechanical aspects of the independent verification and approval of the project's inspection process for the new various equipment erection within company process plants, including but not limited to review of all design approval documentation for new vessels, heat exchangers, tankage…etc. and equipment installation surveillance.

Checking of vessel, tankage and exchanger conditions during project's execution/life cycle. Ensuring all pipe works are designed and installed to specification including welding procedure qualifications, welder testing, NDT interpretation and hydrotest witnessing.

Duties and responsibilities

  • HSE performance, to ensure that all works are carried out in line with Company's HSE policy.
  • Business Integrity to ensure all works are carried out timely to minimize disruption to the ongoing construction works.
  • Ensure all construction works confirm to the applicable international standards. review company inspection procedures and advise on new technologies and equipment suitable for project's required inspection works Liaise with projects coordinator in the planning of inspection requirements in line with the applicable codes and standards.
  • Review of contractor's QA/QC documentation on completion of works to ensure completeness on completion of works forward all relevant data to QA/QC personnel.
  • Profitability, to ensure all works are carried out in a cost-effective manner
  • Investment and Growth, to provide support to all phases of projects executed in the field such that they can be completed as per plan on a continuous basis review the inspection regime and highlight problem areas with suggestions of solutions to overcome them.
  • External relationships, to report any conflicts with local communities, authorities and other operating companies immediately to the field project coordinator.
  • Maintain good working relationships and communication with all company department and contractors.
  • Report to the QC lead on all quality related matters relating to pipe work.
  • Perform oversight inspection of contractor's pipe work installation, covering fit up, welding and NDT.
  • Monitor contractor's construction.
  • Review of inspection procedures and documentation.
  • Perform inspection in line with QA/QC personal and oversight and assurance requirements. Attendance at defined hold and witness points identified within the inspection and test plans.

  • Ability to produce quality written reports.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Directs workers in quality assurance inspection and testing, to assure that establishment and regulatory standards are met.
  • Current knowledge and understanding of all ASME quality procedures as they apply to: ASME Sec. I, ASME Sec. II, ASME Sec. VIII, ASME Sec. IX, ASME B31.1, & ASME B31.3.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications. ability to read and understand technical documents and symbols and to apply this knowledge.
  • Knowledge of NDE practices, welding processes, and materials.

Technical Qualifications

  • Inspection qualifications in welding inspection to PCN* or CSWIP**. Experience and qualification in NDE (MPI, UT, DPI, RAD and AUT).
  • Experience in pipe spool fabrication and welding essential.
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience in a quality discipline relating to Inspection/quality working with pipe fabrication and construction.
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience on QA/QC activities applicable to oil and gas onshore and/or offshore pipeline and facilitates construction.
  • Minimum five years in manufacturing or field experience in the QA/QC role.
  • Four-year engineering degree preferred.
  • Good E&I Knowledge, e.g. reviewing SLDs, final terminations,…etc.

  • PCN: Personal Certification in NDT.
  • CSWIP: Certificate Scheme for Welding Inspector Personal.
