Production Safety Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Production & Process Safety

• Monitor safety aspects of production operations including separation, compression, pumping, and utilities.
• Identify hazards associated with production activities and ensure adequate risk mitigation measures.
• Support implementation and maintenance of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and risk assessment studies.

Operational Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, local regulations, and international standards (API, OSHA, ISO).
• Verify adherence to operating procedures, safe work instructions, and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and field observations in production areas.

Incident Prevention & Investigation

• Analyze incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts related to production operations.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses (RCA).
• Develop corrective and preventive action plans and follow up on implementation.

Emergency Response & Readiness

• Support emergency response planning and drills for production facilities.
• Ensure availability and readiness of safety systems (ESD, fire & gas detection, relief systems).
• Coordinate with operations and emergency response teams during incidents.

Training & Safety Culture

• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to production and operations personnel.
• Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement in safety performance.
• Support competency development for production staff.

Reporting & Coordination

• Prepare safety reports, KPIs, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, engineering, and HSE departments.
• Interface with clients, regulators, and third-party auditors when required.
