[Partnership – University of Ouargla] Launch of the program for the 2023-2024 academic year

At the heart of its CSR policy in Algeria, Altea Energy attended a meeting on October 9th with the University of Ouargla*, with which a cooperation agreement has been signed since 2021. Look back at the 4 actions defined during this meeting to launch the program for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Action 1: train the trainers from the Entrepreneurship Development Center

The CDE (Entrepreneurship Development Center) of the University of Ouargla is supporting the creation of startups and innovative projects, particularly in the field of energy (renewable energies, hydrocarbon depollution, environment, green economy, etc.).

To support this initiative, Altea Energy will develop training sessions for entrepreneurship trainers, who will then support students with business creation projects.

“This transfer of skills is an essential way to enable them to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to create, manage and develop a business successfully.”, comments El Hachemi OUKIL, Algeria Country Manager of Altea Energy.

Action 2: supervise student interns
at the end of the cycle

Since 2022, the University of Ouargla’s partnership also aims to supervise the higher education of students and the development of specialized skills (Specialized Masters and PGS – Specialized Post-Graduation). This action will be continued in 2023-2024.

“Altea Energy is honored to see the partnership agreement come to fruition on the ground. The actions already carried out in 2022 and those defined for 2023-2024 are the result of a concrete collaboration which will last over time. We are here to strengthen our ties with students and create a bridge between the business world and the university. We wish to promote training, science and knowledge and are keen to expand our training activities to other departments of the university. The energy sector has real opportunities to offer Algerian students, due to the great diversity of its professions.”, continues El Hachemi OUKIL, Algeria Country Manager of Altea Energy.

Action 3: collaborate with the university
on the Master in Legal Sciences
specializing in hydrocarbons

The University of Ouargla is opening a new Professional Masters in Legal Sciences specializing in hydrocarbons. This course requires the creation of a bridge between the business world and the academic world.

“Our team will provide its legal expertise relating to laws and regulations in the field of energy, in particular through the organization of workshops and study days for students of this professional master’s degree on the following subjects: foreign labor management, laws relating to hydrocarbons and renewable energies.”, explains El Hachemi OUKIL, Algeria Country Manager of Altea Energy.

Action 4: train students in HSE

To pursue the actions initiated in 2022 on the subject of HSE, the University of Ouargla entrusts Altea Energy with the training of Bachelor and Master students in HSE from the Institute of Technologies of the University of Ouargla.

“During a module which timing is currently being discussed, our HSE Manager will train students in health, safety and environmental issues adapted to the energy sector. The courses will be taught through workshops and practical cases to strengthen the connection between university learning and applications in the professional world”, explains El Hachemi OUKIL, Algeria Country Manager of Altea Energy.

Cooperation with the University of Ouargla, an axis of Altea Energy’s CSR policy initiated in 2021

Algeria is a country of operation in which Altea Energy has mobilized numerous consultants for 15 years. At the heart of its CSR policy and to strengthen its local involvement, the signing in December 2021 of a cooperation agreement with the University of Ouargla made it possible to launch joint local initiatives, to intensify efforts for the benefit of students, teachers and researchers and to promote training, employability of newly graduates and scientific research.

“We believe that promoting education is the best support we can provide to develop local communities and make students aware of the wide diversity of opportunities that the energy sector has to offer them. We are delighted with the partnership with the University of Ouargla which is in line with the CSR policy that we have been implementing for many years in Algeria, where our local teams have created strong relationships both with our consultants and with local administrations. “, concludes Armand Pasteur, Founder and President of Altea Energy.
