The Subsea Engineer is responsible for ensuring the design integrity, installability, operability, and delivery of subsea production systems within the project. The role provides technical assurance, interface coordination, documentation review, and support during engineering, fabrication, testing, and installation phases. It ensures that all subsea systems meet project requirements, industry standards, and best engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Coordination & Interface Management

  • Ensure all necessary technical interfaces with other project systems and activities are identified and effectively managed by the Contractor.
  • Assure the overall performance, operability, and installability of the subsea production system.
  • Ensure that all internal and external interfaces are correctly managed and aligned with project objectives.

Engineering Design Assurance

  • Support and follow up detailed engineering performed by the SPS Contractor for subsea production trees, subsea tie-ins, ROV tools, and subsea structures.
  • Ensure design compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, COMPANY standards, technical specifications, international standards, and industry best practices.
  • Guarantee consistency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of subsea system design.
  • Resolve technical queries and issues related to subsea equipment.

Documentation & Technical Review

  • Review and comment on technical documentation including reports, specifications, procedures, and drawings produced by Contractors.
  • Ensure the proper application of project procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements in all documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of user manuals and installation procedures.

Factory & Site Surveillance

  • Perform site inspections and interface with Contractors on technical and delivery matters.
  • Witness critical tests including SUI, FAT, SIT, and EFAT to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor and report technical progress to the SPS Lead / Package Manager.

Installation & Operational Support

  • Assist the installation campaign, ensuring readiness of subsea components and confirming that systems are installable and fit-for-purpose.
  • Ensure subsea components are delivered in line with technical requirements, interfaces, and project objectives.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Subsea, Petroleum, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of subsea engineering experience.
  • Experience in at least 2 similar subsea EPC project follow-up roles.
  • Excellent spoken and written English, with proven ability to write specifications and technical reports.
