Site Lifting Supervisor

Location: Suriname (Onshore & Offshore)

Contract Type: Rotational Assignment

Rotation: 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Start Date: Target April 2026

Duration: 2 years - renewable

Key Responsibilities

Lifting Operations Supervision

• Supervise day-to-day lifting and handling activities on site
• Categorize lifting operations and assess associated risks
• Review and validate lifting procedures and lifting organization
• Attend and supervise complex and critical lifting operations
• Ensure proper execution of lifting plans and procedures

Technical Expertise & Assurance

• Review and approve complex lifting plans
• Provide technical advice on lifting and handling operations
• Ensure suitability and compliance of lifting equipment used by contractors
• Oversee pre-use inspections of:
  • Cranes
  • Forklifts
  • Rigging equipment
• Perform condition checks and fitness-for-purpose assessments of:
  • Lifting appliances
  • Cargo Carrying Units (CCUs)

HSE & Risk Management

• Promote safe lifting and handling practices in line with Company HSE standards and international regulations
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments (JSA, HAZID)
• Ensure immediate reporting and correction of unsafe conditions or practices
• Support implementation of safety policies, including lifting standards and procedures

Audits & Continuous Improvement

• Assess lifting and handling organization within the affiliate
• Participate in internal and third-party audits related to lifting operations
• Conduct periodic reviews of lifting procedures and generic lift plans
• Develop and maintain lifting procedures and ensure proper implementation

Reporting & Monitoring

• Ensure reporting of HSE KPIs related to lifting operations
• Monitor performance of lifting activities and identify improvement opportunities
• Track unsafe acts and conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Training & Competency Development

• Assess competencies of personnel involved in lifting operations
• Provide recommendations for training and development
• Participate in the development of training plans
• Ensure coaching and mentoring of site personnel

Logistics & Transportation Oversight

• Conduct random inspections of road transportation activities to ensure compliance with Company safety standards
• Ensure safe transport of equipment between yards and operational sites

HSE Responsibilities

• Advise operations teams on best practices in safety, health, and environmental compliance
• Conduct site inspections of docks, yards, and work areas
• Participate in incident reporting, HIPO reporting, and safety investigations
• Support preparation and facilitation of Job Safety Analyses (JSA)
• Promote a strong safety culture across all lifting operations

Work Conditions

• Rotational position: 6×2 weeks
• Based on 6 working days per week / 8 hours per day
• Primary location: Suriname, including offshore assignments
• Occasional assignments in other locations as required

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Technical or engineering degree or equivalent qualification

Experience

• Significant experience in lifting and handling operations in Oil & Gas environment
• Strong experience supervising lifting operations on industrial or offshore sites
• Experience working with contractors and logistics teams

Technical Skills

• Lifting operations planning and supervision
• Lifting equipment inspection and certification
• Knowledge of international lifting standards and regulations
• Risk assessment and hazard identification
• Audit and compliance processes
