General Description

The senior civil engineer will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and support in civil engineering for onshore exploration and production (E&P) projects. Working on-site, the senior civil engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of civil infrastructure and facilities, ensuring their safety, reliability, and compliance with regulations.

Duty and Responsible for

Design and Engineering

  • Structural design: Designing structures such as buildings, bridges, dams, and tunnels to ensure their structural integrity and adherence to safety codes and regulations.
  • Geotechnical design: Assessing soil conditions and designing foundations, slopes, and retaining structures to ensure stability and prevent soil-related failures.
  • Hydraulic design: Designing systems for water supply, drainage, and wastewater management, including channels, pipes, and pumping stations.
  • Transportation design: Designing transportation infrastructure, such as roads, highways, railways, and airports, to ensure safe and efficient movement of people and goods.
  • Site development design: Planning and designing site layouts, grading, and landscaping for optimal land use and development.
  • Develop and review civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for various infrastructure elements, such as roads, foundations, drainage systems, and buildings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil engineering considerations into the overall project planning and execution.
  • Conduct site grading and earthworks calculations to optimize the layout and prepare suitable foundation designs for various structures.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to assess soil conditions and design appropriate foundations for equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure proper erosion control measures are implemented during earthworks and construction activities.

Quality Assurance and Control

  • Developing quality control procedures and guidelines: Establishing processes and protocols to ensure that construction activities and materials meet quality standards and comply with regulations.
  • Reviewing and verifying construction specifications and drawings: Checking the accuracy and compliance of construction specifications, drawings, and documentation with project requirements.
  • Participating in quality audits and inspections: Conducting inspections, tests, and audits to verify compliance with quality standards and adherence to construction specifications.
  • Implementing corrective actions: Addressing non-conformities, deficiencies, or deviations identified through inspections or quality assessments by implementing appropriate corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Monitoring and analyzing quality metrics: Collecting and analyzing data on construction quality, materials performance, and compliance to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Construction and Materials

  • Collaborating with construction teams: Working closely with contractors, construction managers, and subcontractors to oversee and coordinate construction activities.
  • Reviewing construction plans and documents: Verifying that the construction plans, drawings, and documents align with the design and specifications.
  • Selecting and managing construction materials: Choosing suitable construction materials, such as aggregates, concrete, steel, and asphalt, based on project requirements and specifications. Ensuring proper storage, testing, and usage of construction materials.
  • Conducting inspections and site visits: Monitoring the progress of construction activities, performing inspections, and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Resolving construction-related challenges: Identifying and resolving conflicts, discrepancies, or issues that impact the construction process or compliance with design requirements.

Building Construction

  • Structural design: Designing the structural framework of buildings, including load-bearing elements such as columns, beams, and slabs, to ensure stability and safety.
  • Quality control: Inspecting construction materials and components, such as steel reinforcement and concrete, to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Construction management: Overseeing the construction process, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors, and ensuring that the building is constructed according to design, budget, and schedule.
  • Material selection: Recommending appropriate building materials, such as bricks, blocks, and concrete, based on their strength, durability, and aesthetic properties.
  • Site planning: Assessing site conditions, preparing site layouts, and optimizing the utilization of available space for efficient building construction.

CPF Construction

  • Design coordination: Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate various engineering disciplines, such as structural, electrical, and mechanical systems, in the design of CPF facilities.
  • Quality assurance: Conducting inspections and quality control tests on equipment, civil systems, and structural components to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
  • Construction supervision: Overseeing the installation and construction of CPF facilities, monitoring progress, and resolving construction issues to ensure timely and successful project completion.
  • Safety management: Implementing safety procedures and protocols to protect workers during the construction of CPF facilities, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
