Lead Cost Controller

Missions / Service Dimensions

The Service Holder is responsible for all project cost control activities and shall:

  • Ensure efficient and accurate receipt, registration, analysis, processing, and filing of all project cost documentation.
  • Support the Project Control and Project Team in all matters relating to the Cost Control area.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the project on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding HSE rules and Company Ethics.
  • Observe and enforce strict confidentiality throughout the project.

Activities

Budget

  • Participate in the preparation of the Project Budget (internal & external).
  • Coordinate the issuance of various budgets with input from the Project Team.
  • Provide ad-hoc support when required.

Cost Reporting

  • Prepare cost control reports and assist with cost trend analysis.
  • Monitor and assess commitments, variations, and the value of work done.

Cost Control

  • Control and input commitments data and allocate them to budgets.
  • Verify contractor/vendor invoices and cash calls.
  • Prepare cash flow estimates and final cost forecasts.
  • Administer the RFS process (open, register, control, report, close).
  • Monitor AFE preparation, changes, contingency usage.
  • Develop WBS, CBS, and comprehensive cost control procedures.

Invoicing

  • Implement an efficient invoicing process across project locations.
  • Liaise with TEPOD accounting to ensure timely invoice payments.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Organize and control the Cost Control team.
  • Advise on cost coding structures.
  • Provide input into UNISUP for cost control and invoicing.
  • Monitor project cost trends and maintain final cost estimates.
  • Prepare monthly reports and maintain documentation confidentiality.
  • Interface with Finance, Subsidiary, Partners, Authorities, and internal stakeholders.
  • Update procedures reflecting the latest project execution strategies.
  • Report regularly to Budget & Cost Control Lead Engineer.
  • Identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in feedback and lessons learned sharing.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Degree in Accounting, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 15+ years in cost control, including 10+ in projects (preferably oil/gas), with supervisory and yard experience.
  • Systems: Strong knowledge of SAP and MS Office tools.
  • Languages: English and French (mandatory).
