Integrity Engineer

Location Algeria

Rotation 4 weeks *4 weeks

Main functions

  • Asset Inspection and Assessment: Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment and infrastructure to identify potential integrity issues as corrosion, cracks, deformation, and other structural or operational issues. Utilize various inspection techniques such as ultrasonic testing, radiography, and magnetic flux leakage.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate the risks associated with integrity issues, including the potential for leaks, ruptures, and environmental impact. Develop risk assessments to prioritize maintenance and repair activities.
  • Corrosion Control: Implement corrosion control strategies, such as cathodic protection and chemical inhibitors, to prevent corrosion and degradation of materials.
  • Materials Selection: Advise on appropriate materials for construction and maintenance of assets to ensure longevity and compliance.
  • Fitness for Service (FFS) Analysis: Perform FFS assessments to determine the suitability of assets for continued operation and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and government regulations related to integrity management.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans in case of material failures, leaks, or accidents. Participate in emergency response drills and training exercises.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data collected from inspections, including corrosion rates, metal loss, and integrity threats. Utilize specialized software and tools to interpret inspection results and assess the overall health of the pipeline.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate failures and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, assessments, maintenance activities, and repair work. Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, environmental, and safety departments, to address integrity issues and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings related to integrity management. Stay current with advancements in inspection technologies and integrity management practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field (typically in materials, mechanical, or chemical engineering).
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience with integrity management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of corrosion control techniques and materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as NACE or API, may be beneficial.
