Job Description

The Drilling HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring site-specific Safety, Health, Environmental, and Emergency Response programs. This role ensures full compliance with Company's HSE Management Systems and Tunisian legislative requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain effective on-site working relationships to foster collaboration andsafety compliance.
  • Lead incident investigations, document root causes, and report findings to the Company HSSE Manager.
  • Conduct regular workplace audits to identify hazards, unsafe acts, or unsafe conditions,and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure readiness and maintenance of emergency response equipment through routineinspections and testing.
  • Organize and deliver HSE training sessions, safety briefings, and drills for all personnelinvolved in drilling operations.
  • Monitor and enhance HSE programs tailored to drilling operations
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by fostering engagement and communicationbetween management, field teams, and contractors.
  • Prepare detailed HSE reports (daily, weekly, monthly) and maintain accurate recordsof audits, incidents, corrective actions, equipment inspections, and training sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and international safetystandards
  • Host daily safety toolbox talks and pre-shift briefings
  • Conduct Risk Assessments for high-risk activities (e.g., drilling, well control, heavylifting). Validate control measures with operational teams.
  • Test site-specific emergency response plans for scenarios such as blowouts, gasleaks, or medical emergencies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the Oil & Gas industry, withextensive knowledge of drilling operations, including well control, rig safety, hazardousarea classification, and emergency response planning.
  • NEBOSH IGC.
  • Advanced certifications in Fire Safety, First Aid, and Lifting Operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Prior experience with Company projects is advantageous.
