Construction Building Superintendent

• Status: Residential (5 or 6 days/week to be confirmed)

• Note: Position open to men and women - Omani Nationals preferred

Main Responsibilities

HSE & Safety Leadership:

  • Promote HSE culture and enforce safety policies on-site.
  • Apply Stop Work authority when necessary and ensure incident reporting.
  • Ensure construction of buildings complies with project HSE rules and specifications.
  • Support the implementation of Company’s H3SE values across CPY and Contractor teams.

Construction Supervision:

  • Assist the Construction Manager with all delegated duties.
  • Manage and coordinate building construction works, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
  • Oversee construction engineering and execution activities.
  • Verify contractor progress and support milestone validation.
  • Monitor EPC deliverables and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate construction interfaces with other site packages during the EPSCC phase.

Technical & Contractual Support:

  • Review contractor deliverables and ensure alignment with project specifications and technical references.
  • Ensure proper application of Omani standards when relevant.
  • Support interface coordination between contractors.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, peer reviews, and technical audits.
  • Verify final documentation for completeness and compliance with handover requirements.

Coordination & Execution Monitoring:

  • Develop strong working relationships with EPC contractors.
  • Participate in construction planning and coordination meetings.
  • Track progress, identify risks or deviations, and propose mitigation measures.
  • Ensure design validity and integration of building scope within the overall LNG facility.
  • Follow up with site teams to confirm area readiness and resource availability.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor contractor construction management systems.
  • Develop tracking tools to monitor issues and resolutions.
  • Document lessons learned and contribute to project close-out reporting (REX).
  • Apply best practices to enhance efficiency and promote knowledge transfer.

Working Relationships

Internal

  • Construction Manager, Package Managers, Site HSE, and Engineering teams

External

  • EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and local authorities

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education

  • Engineering degree or equivalent (mandatory)

Experience

  • 10+ years in oil & gas construction, ideally with building scope experience
  • Experience from both owner and contractor perspectives
  • Background in complex industrial facilities execution

Technical Skills

  • Construction coordination and supervision
  • EPC engineering design and documentation control
  • Knowledge of Omani regulations and best practices
  • Understanding of commissioning and start-up processes

Soft Skills

  • Leadership and team-building capabilities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage priorities and multi-task within deadlines

Languages

  • English (fluent, written and spoken)
  • Arabic or French is a plus
