Key responsibilities

• To communicate the latest/overnight developments before the Power & Gas market opens.
• To give an assessment on which weather model to trust more in a given situation.
• To communicate confidence in the weather model runs and discuss the likelihood of alternative scenarios.
• To monitor and update forecast throughout and brief the Power and Gas traders of relevant developments during the day as-and-when required.
• To support business planning by alerting to weather events that may impact operations, such as storms or tropical systems.
• To improve Client`s weather forecasting skills.
• To take ownership of weather data base

What are we looking for?

• Master/Bachelor Degree in Climate Sciences or similar which qualifies the candidate to work as meteorologist.
• Fluency in English and at least intermediary level of Spanish.
• Coding skills (Python, R, SQL) and advanced modelling and time series analysis skills with high volume data.
• Understanding of how climatic variable affect freight, energy production, energy demand…as well as energy systems and the energy supply demand balance on a country in Europe.
• 2-4 years of experience working as a Trading Meteorologist in a Power & Gas Trading environment.
