Senior Geophysicist

Key Responsibilities

Seismic Acquisition & Processing

• Lead 3D high-resolution seismic acquisition and processing projects
• Ensure seismic data quality meets project objectives and technical standards
• Manage acquisition programs, contractors, and processing workflows
• Identify and mitigate operational risks related to seismic activities

Seismic Interpretation & Modelling

• Perform advanced seismic interpretation including:
  • Structural interpretation
  • Fault mapping
  • Velocity model building and updates
• Conduct:
  • Well-to-seismic calibration
  • Seismic reservoir characterization
  • Fault seal analysis
• Support development of subsurface models for reservoir understanding

Reservoir Characterization Support

• Contribute to static reservoir characterization and development planning
• Provide geophysical input for well placement and development wells
• Support multidisciplinary integration with geology and reservoir engineering teams

Data Management & Quality Control

• Ensure quality control of seismic data and geophysical deliverables
• Manage and consolidate geophysical databases
• Maintain data integrity and accessibility across teams

Project & Business Support

• Support resource evaluation and corporate business planning processes
• Contribute to internal and external technical review meetings
• Participate in partner technical committees and project discussions

HSE Responsibilities

• Ensure all activities comply with Company HSES standards and regulatory requirements
• Promote safe practices in seismic operations and data acquisition activities

Ethics & Compliance

• Ensure all activities comply with Company ethics and compliance policies
• Complete all required compliance training

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or related Geoscience discipline
• Master’s degree is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in geophysics and reservoir characterization
• Strong experience in offshore development projects
• Proven experience in complex reservoirs (turbidite environments)
• Experience supporting field development planning and well proposals

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with:
  • Seismic interpretation
  • Velocity modelling
  • Fault seal analysis
  • Seismic reservoir characterization
• Experience with advanced geophysical techniques:
  • Full Waveform Inversion (FWI)
  • Quantitative Interpretation (QI)
• Proficiency in software:
  • Petrel
  • Kingdom
  • Paleoscan
• Understanding of:
  • Seismic acquisition risks
  • Geohazards and subsurface uncertainties

Operational Capabilities

• Ability to integrate geophysical data with geological and reservoir models
• Strong understanding of offshore exploration and development workflows
• Experience supporting drilling and well placement decisions

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation capabilities
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Languages

• Fluent English required (minimum B2 level)
• Spanish is a plus
