Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sand Blaster to join our team in the Oil & Gas Downstream industry. This role is essential for ensuring proper surface preparation as part of the maintenance and coating processes on industrial equipment and structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate sand blasting and abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal and other surfaces for painting or coating
• Remove rust, old paint, scale, and other contaminants from surfaces using abrasive materials and blasting techniques
• Conduct surface preparation in accordance with industry standards and project specifications
• Ensure safe and efficient setup and operation of blasting equipment
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on blasting tools and equipment
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the use of appropriate PPE
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines and quality standards
• Follow technical instructions, procedures, and safety protocols at all times

Qualifications

• Time-served craftsman with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in sand blasting within a refinery or petrochemical plant environment
• Proven ability to perform sand blasting to international safety and quality standards
• Familiar with working in confined spaces and hazardous environments typical in Oil & Gas maintenance settings
• Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques and coating requirements
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Ability to interpret basic technical instructions or job orders
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
