Description:

  • Operate oil and gas field production and individual wells in a safe, cost effective and optimal manner.
  • Ensure proper safety standards are used by site personnel. Ensure that the company's HSE policy is effectively implemented and corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Monitors all risk assessment initiatives conducted for non-routine activities, review the assessments to identify potential risks while identifying the root cause, and leads the thorough investigation of all HIPO incidents and plant trips in addition to formulating and monitoring the implementation of corrective measures to ensure that risks are mitigated in an effective and timely manner.
  • Monitor performance of the field and individual wells, on a daily basis. Identify and investigate problems, their causes, and propose solutions to improve performance. Develop project proposals, identifying the technical scope, cost and schedule of project work. Instigate, perform and deliver Production Engineering & Technology studies and projects. Pro-actively communicate status of projects with project sponsors. Present clear recommendations or options identified to increase/maintain production. Take corrective actions to rectify deviations.
  • Engineering design, Planning and Supervision of Workovers, and Well Operations. Areas within this discipline are artificial lift, production optimizations and monitoring programs. Facilitate and include advice and support from technical specialists, service and equipment providers in the designs.
  • Well integrity assurance and monitoring. Investigation, identification and recommendation of remedial well operations.
  • Develop and manage budget and operating expenditures, oversee proposal development bid packages and subcontractor agreements. Provide cost and risk management.
  • Support commissioning and start-up of new projects and plant modifications to ensure compliance with standards, specifications and contract terms and conditions.
  • Lead the Petroleum Engineering & Well Services team in giving support for the production forecasting, planning and delivery of volumes.
  • Ensure proper implementation of approved reservoir management and monitoring programs.
  • Support the planning and execution of major maintenance and shutdowns.
  • Approve plans, bid packages, bid evaluation and recommend contract awards as appropriate.
  • Ongoing relationship building with key members and functional managers within the organization.
  • Effectively maintain internal and external communications with a wide variety of engineering and management disciplines.
  • Develop and recommend corrective changes that may be necessary for the improvement/enhancement of well operations to increase production in accordance with the company's growth plan. Ensure production targets are met.
  • Challenge existing designs and operational processes in order to apply best technologies and practices, and minimize operating costs. Recommendation and implementation of new technology.
  • Identify, evaluate and propose innovative Production strategies to enhance Well Operation performance. Organize integrated well reviews, providing well operating parameters to installations.
  • Ensure the correct number of qualified personnel are in place to maintain continuity of well operations and takes appropriate developmental steps to meet the mid and long term needs of the plant.
  • Supervision, training and development of subordinates and junior personnel.

Required Skills:

  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering with 15+ years of professional experience.
  • Highly qualified professional with extensive Petroleum Engineering and Well Services background and experience, having participated in numerous projects and diverse areas.
  • Well-developed technical understanding of all phases of a gas production asset, from subsurface to pipelines to processing.
  • Knowledge in production engineering, surface operations, facilities, maintenance and drilling engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of various oil and gas field procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge in the application of Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) procedure.
  • Influential and leadership skills; driving continuous improvement and engaging with numerous different groups within an energy company.
  • Knowledge in production engineering, surface operations, facilities, maintenance and drilling engineering.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Commercial experience in handling domestic and international supply contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; adapt at interacting with a variety of contacts and cultures, including peers within a multi-disciplinary team, management, suppliers and partners.
  • Negotiation and conflicts resolution skills.
  • Willingness to train less experienced professionals.
  • Experience in North African and Arabic countries.
  • English language is a must.
  • Spanish and French language desirable but not critical.
