Painter Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter Technician to join our team in the Oil & Gas Downstream industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintenance and inspection activities related to painting and protective coating of equipment and structures. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring equipment longevity, structural integrity, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and surface preparation for painting and coating operations
  • Conduct inspections to verify the quality and condition of painted/coated surfaces and equipment
  • Operate painting tools and machinery including sprayers, rollers, and abrasive blasting equipment
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers or sealants
  • Apply protective coatings and finishes according to technical data sheets and project specifications
  • Maintain and manage painting material inventory and tools
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and company painting specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, painting schedules, and technical documentation

Requirements

  • Time-served craftsman with a minimum of 5 years' experience in painting works within refineries or petrochemical plants
  • Proven ability in surface preparation, abrasive blasting, coating application, and paint quality testing
  • Familiarity with painting specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards
  • Competent in interpreting Technical Data Sheets and Painting Specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
