Context & Environment

In 2021, the COMPANY discovered an extensive oil and associated gas field 70 km off the coast of Abidjan, Ivory Coast at a depth of 1,200 metres. It was the first commercial discovery in the country in the past 20 years. We call it fast track and it consists in running the design, authorisation and execution phases in parallel. Another innovative aspect of the project is the reuse of an existing FPSO, modernised and made technologically more advanced to ensure an accelerated start-up, optimising costs and time and minimising the waste of raw materials and construction materials.

Main Activities

Ø Reporting directly to the PIC

Ø Operate the cranes within the designed (SWL) loads in accordance with the derating tables applicable to existing weather and sea state condition.

Ø Drive the assigned crane

Ø Lifting Appliance Operator shall be trained and authorized to operate the specific equipment being used, and shall operate the equipment within the technical parameters and safe Manuals of that equipment

Ø Perform pre-operation inspection on lifting appliance and all its associated parts including safety devices ensuring they are in good working condition. Fill in the dedicated check list and report anomalies

Ø Maintain the cranes on a daily basis cleaning action including operator cabin

Ø Check the status of the machine in general, the mechanical conditions, the certifications and the instrumentations of the cables

Ø Verify weight of load does not exceed the safe working load of appliance and lifting equipment in all geometrical conditions.

Ø Ensure lifting appliance is safe and adequate level of visibility during lifting operations at site;

Ø Communicate with the Banksman before and during operation to establish common understanding signs and instructions that will be used, the potential hazards and risks that may exist during lifting and their prevention, control and mitigation measures.

Ø Have the responsibility not to carry lift or suspend loads above people.

Ø Be compliant with Manuals and HSE documents and indicated safety measures.

Ø Ensure other personnel are not in the swing radius prior to performing turning manoeuvres.

Ø Crane Operator Shall maintain the crane operation and maintenance Logbook up to date

Ø Crane operator Shall operate the crane accordingly to the approved operational procedure manual.

Ø Apply Stop Work Authority where required

Mandatory Certifications or Diploma:

Ø Offshore Pedestal crane operator Stage 1, 2 and 3(all mandatory) according to API RP 2D or equivalent

Ø OPITO BOSIET or Sea Survival certificate

Ø H2S training

Ø Fi Fi

Skills & Experience:

Ø At least 5 years offshore experience

Bilingual French and English

Other Observations

  • Duties to be carried out in compliance with Company Code of Ethics and Internal Control System.
