Location: Suriname (Onshore & Offshore)

Contract Type: Rotational Assignment

Rotation: 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off

Start Date: Target April 2026

Duration: 2 years - renewable

Key Responsibilities

Marine Operations Management

  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate all marine operations including:
    • Rig moves
    • Mooring operations
    • Anchor handling operations
    • Offshore logistics support
  • Monitor and ensure safe and efficient execution of all marine activities
  • Approve mooring patterns, mooring analyses, and anchor handling procedures
  • Oversee pre-lay and retrieval of mooring systems in coordination with contractors

Technical Supervision & Assurance

  • Conduct pre-hire inspections of:
    • Drilling rigs
    • Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs)
    • Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels (AHTS)
  • Issue action plans and follow up on closure of findings
  • Review and approve marine procedures, task plans, and associated documentation
  • Validate competency and certification of marine personnel (e.g., barge masters, AHTS crews)

Coordination & Interfaces

  • Act as Company focal point for all marine operations
  • Interface with:
    • Drilling teams
    • Logistics teams
    • Contractors
    • Marine Warranty Surveyors
    • Headquarters technical support
  • Ensure timely receipt and validation of marine planning inputs from contractors
  • Coordinate marine resources and ensure availability of required assets

Planning & Studies

  • Lead or review marine studies including:
    • Mooring analysis
    • Anchor holding capacity tests
    • Soil pre-testing and offshore positioning validation
  • Provide expert advice on marine technical matters (rig moves, semi-mooring, vessel operations)
  • Issue Notices to Mariners and ensure proper communication to stakeholders

Performance & Reporting

  • Monitor marine operations performance and ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation measures proactively
  • Issue regular reports on marine operations during preparation and execution phases
  • Participate in operational and interface meetings (e.g., rig move meetings)

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all marine assets have valid certifications, permits, and authorizations
  • Verify compliance with:
    • Company marine procedures
    • International marine standards
    • Local regulatory requirements
  • Ensure implementation of Company marine guidelines and operational standards

HSE Responsibilities

  • Enforce Company HSE rules and marine safety standards
  • Promote safety culture onboard all marine units
  • Conduct safety meetings and inductions (e.g., vessel onboarding, captain briefings)
  • Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Participate in safety observations and hazard identification initiatives
Work Conditions
  • Rotational position: 5×5 weeks
  • Based on 7 working days per week / 8 hours per day
  • Primary location: Suriname, including offshore assignments
  • Occasional assignments in other locations as required
Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Engineering degree or Master Mariner / equivalent maritime qualification

Experience

  • Significant experience in offshore marine operations
  • Strong experience with:
    • Rig moves
    • Mooring systems
    • Anchor handling operations
  • Experience working with offshore drilling campaigne
Technical Skills
  • Marine operations planning and execution
  • Mooring analysis and anchor handling
  • Vessel inspection and assurance processes
  • Knowledge of:
    • Marine regulations and standards
    • Offshore logistics coordination
  • Ability to perform basic marine engineering studies
Soft Skills
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to work under pressure in offshore environments
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Languages
  • Fluent English required
