General Description

The HSE Trainer is accountable to continuously improve the HSE performance and culture of the RKF2 Project Team through training and coaching

Roles And Responsibilities

The main duties related to this position are:

• Development of ever green training program based on job hazards and learnings from incidents and audits
• Monitor execution of the training program
• Provide field sessions of training and coaching not limited to the following topics:
  • Introduction to company safety management system
  • PTW compliance
  • Observation/Intervention
  • Electrical safety (Insulation, Grounding, Isolation)
  • Manual handling (WorkSmarrt)
  • Driving (DriveSmarrt)
  • Forklift safety
  • Mechanical lifting and lift plan
  • Hazard identification and hazard hunting
  • Risk assessment (HiPos)
  • SIMOPS concept and safety
  • PTW basics for the crew and advanced PTW for supervisors
  • Injury Prevention Program (Step back 5×5)
  • Fire safety and basic firefighting
  • Chemicals storage and handling (MSDS)
  • Fatigue management and circadian rhythm
  • Confined space and gas detection
  • Rescue from confined space
  • Work at heights
  • Rescue from heights
  • Pressure and entailed risks
  • Dropped objects and drops safety
  • Health and Hygiene (basics)
  • PPE basics and advanced
  • Environmental basics (waste minimization and waste control)
  • Housekeeping everywhere
  • Isolation and Lockout/Tagout
  • Vehicle safe loading and offloading
  • Rotary equipment protection
  • STOP card and hazard reporting
  • Incident and accident reporting
  • ERP triggering and mustering
  • Safe evacuation of work location
  • First Aid basics
  • Safety Drills (Man down, Kick, Pit …)
  • No work alone procedure
• Provide certification of the training as appropriate. (e.g. as per AP 74RP, for Drilling PASS, PTW, lifting operation, fire fighting among other.)

Special Challenges

• Improving hazard awareness and HSE compliance for (sub)contractors with differing HSE standards
• Building confidence for staff and contractor workforce to speak up, intervene and stop work if required

Skills Required

• Minimum of 20 years of experience in Safety Drilling and Workover activities and Construction and Commissioning of Oil & Gas facilities.
• Must be able to communicate efficiently in French, Arabic and English
• Good communication skills, ability to work with different cultures
• Team leadership experience, ability to build trust with critical field staff, ability to build good client contractor relationships
• Safety Certifications as appropriate (e.g. Well Control Certification, etc.)
• Good IT skills with PC in Windows environment.
