1. General Security

At the start of each shift, a safety meeting will be held and organized in turn by all the staff. This safety meeting will be written and recorded in the notebook provided for this purpose in order to have support for procedural changes.

1.2. Pre-Job meeting

Before each operation classified as non-routine, a "Pre-Job Meeting" will be held and organized by the Head of Shift or the Assistant to the Head of Shift.

A Pre-Job Meeting is an important and essential meeting at the place of the operation to be carried out with all the people concerned by the operation to be carried out.

The points discussed during this meeting are:

  • The presentation of the operation to be carried out.
  • The organization to be put in place so that the operation is carried out in complete safety.
  • The roles and responsibilities of each.
  • The potential risks associated with this operation.
  • The preparations to be made upstream before starting the said operation.

Communication between the different stakeholders….

1.3. Floor worker attitude
  • Follow the orders of the Head of Post and/or the Assistant to the Head of Post.
  • Be voluntary in your daily tasks.
  • Be voluntary in the actions of storage, cleaning, maintenance of the entire drilling site and more particularly the floor and its surroundings.
  • Assist the rigger as well as the Assistant to the Head of Post in the maintenance and repair of floor equipment.
  • Prepare the drilling equipment, the tubular rod and casing.
  • Clean, paint and grease drilling materials and equipment.
  • Assist the Accrocheur in his work on the mast (if necessary).
  • Assist the Security Accrocheur in the preparation of drilling and/or completion mud, supply and/or store mud products.
  • Screw and unscrew the drill string during maneuvers on the floor.
  • Protect and respect the threads of the tubular material.
  • Actively participate in the handling / addition of tubular to the floor during drilling operations.
  • Check and maintain the drill keys, DP and DC wedges, safety collars.
  • Respect the equipment made available to them.
  • Respect the safety rules.
  • Undertake to carry out the instructions given to him as soon as possible.
  • Always be at the disposal of the Head of Post.
  • Be voluntary and fully involved in the lubrication of equipment.
  • Be a volunteer and get involved in cleaning the gutters.

1.4. Working license

The purposes of the work permit are:

  • To prepare an operation with all the entities of the construction site
  • Analyze the risks before starting an operation
  • To ensure that the work to be carried out does not interfere with other operations / work

To make the people involved aware of their roles and responsibilities in carrying out the said operation.

For all the following work (non-exhaustive list), it is mandatory to open an internal work permit.

✓ Cleaning with HP cleaner

It is imperative to close each open work permit at the end of each intervention.

2. Work organization

• Carry out, at each start of shift, a check of the floor material and check in particular the points of the daily check list.

• Leave, at the end of each shift, a clean and tidy drill floor for the relief.

• Report to the Head of Post all malfunctions of the equipment made available to him.
