Field Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• To drive until the completion of the project the design development, fit for the purpose and in compliance with the budget, Codes & Standards, HSE requirements and the agreed project requirements & specifications.
• To lead and manage the multi-disciplinary, multicultural engineering (Company representatives, resident engineers) team and the associated engineering standards and systems, with focus on the successful and timely project execution.
• To work and interact proactively and efficiently with the Contractors in order to achieve the facilities design fit for purpose and in compliance with the Project Objectives.
• To be and remain the focal point for all technical and engineering issues of the Project, including consistency in the design.
• To provide comprehensive while concise reporting to the Package Manager and Project Director, thus allowing for the Senior Management decisions and actions as required, in order to avoid delays, schedule and costs impacts.
• To keep and maintain a good working spirit and full transparency with the Project Shareholders.
• Provide the necessary Project Management Coordination with other key positions within COMPANY organization, such as but not limited to Interface Manager, Field Operation Manager, Tank Package Manager, Project Control Manager, In-Country Representative, HSE Manager, Quality Manager, and Contract Leader.
• To provide effective coordination with the Document Controller (DCC) in order to allow for timely review and comment/approval of the engineering studies, as well as technical clarification and deviation.
• To react proactively in order to provide the necessary technical coordination and arbitration between the different disciplines and Work Packages in case of conflict or inconsistencies in the design and keep all parties informed of the decision taken or proposal for decision.
• To Provide day to day coordination with the Project Director and Package Manager, including dedicated meetings such as Project weekly meetings to report progress, main activities and areas of concerns.
• To participate to project management meetings & Project Shareholder meetings as required.
• To promote sound and proven engineering solutions in order to ensure safe, operable and maintainable PLANT Facilities, to avoid novelty while supporting innovative solutions when leading to CAPEX and OPEX optimizations.
