Draftsman

General Description

The draftsperson will play an essential role in providing technical support and expertise in drafting and documentation for onshore exploration and production (E&P) projects. Working on-site, the draftsperson will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate engineering drawings, assisting with design modifications, and ensuring the timely completion of drafting tasks to support project objectives.

Duty and Responsible for

• Create, modify, and update engineering drawings, including plans, layouts, schematics, and detailed technical drawings, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Ensure that all drawings adhere to project standards, industry codes, and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to understand design requirements and incorporate necessary changes into drawings.
• Establish and maintain an organized system for managing engineering drawings, including proper version control and document management procedures.
• Monitor drawing repositories and ensure that all stakeholders have access to the latest revisions of drawings.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure drawings are accurately filed and cataloged for easy retrieval and reference.
• Assist engineers and designers in developing design concepts and translating them into accurate and detailed drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather information, clarify design intent, and resolve drawing-related issues.
• Incorporate design changes and updates into drawings based on input from the engineering team.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements, standards, and specifications.
• Verify dimensions, annotations, and symbols to ensure clarity and conformity with drafting standards.
• Participate in quality control processes to identify and rectify errors or discrepancies in drawings.
• Stay updated with industry best practices, drawing standards, and emerging technologies related to drafting and documentation.
• Implement and adhere to established drafting standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in all drawings.
• Provide suggestions for process improvements and contribute to the development of drafting workflows and standardization.
• Provide progress updates and reports on drafting tasks to project management and other relevant parties.

Work experience requirements

• References in Oil Companies (Operators) in Algeria, which can be verified.
• 10 years’ work experience in its discipline and in oil and gas design stated against the positions, with at least 3 years working in Algeria.
• Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MicroStation) and other drafting tools.
• Familiarity with industry drawing standards, codes, and practices (e.g., ANSI/ASME, ISO).
• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.

Education and qualification Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in drafting, computer-aided design, or a related field.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good command of spoken French is preferred.
• Good knowledge of computer standard applications: word processing & spreadsheets and industry discipline engineering software.
