Deepwater Fluids & Cement Senior Supervisor

Duration / Location

  • Starting date: Q1 2026
  • Duration: 12 Months (renewable)
  • Location: Offshore, Namibia & South Africa - Deepwater Exploration Campaign
  • Status: Offshore, rotational (4 weeks on / 4 weeks off)

Missions / Service Dimensions

The Fluids & Cement Supervisor is responsible for:

Operational Supervision

  • Supervise all critical rig-site fluids-related operations, including cementing jobs, mud displacements, and formation integrity tests.
  • Ensure proper application of fluids, cement, and waste management services to optimize performance.
  • Report any solids control equipment failures or non-conformance services.
  • Conduct QA/QC of mud and cement systems, stock inventories, product consumption, and Contractor reporting.

Planning & Coordination

  • Participate in the preparation of fluids and cement instructions, including cementing programs and mud maintenance plans.
  • Coordinate actions between rig teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure best procedures are applied.
  • Provide offshore feedback to the Fluids & Cement Superintendent (FSI) for SQM preparation and annual reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of fluids, cement, and waste management annual reports as required by HQ.

HSE & Compliance

  • Ensure Company and Contractor HSE standards are fully implemented and respected.
  • Supervise completion of all well environmental reports, including validation through a Compliance Engineer onboard.
  • Capture and document lessons learnt (REX) throughout the operations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification recommended.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in deepwater drilling environments, with proven experience in exploration wells.
  • Strong background in WBM and NABM systems, cementing operations, and solids control equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and optimize complex offshore fluids & cement operations.

HSE

  • Trained and experienced in well control, emergency response, and safety-critical operations.

Languages

  • English (mandatory, fluent spoken and written); French (a strong advantage).

Personal

  • Team player with strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Flexible and culturally sensitive management style.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure offshore environments and ensure alignment of all stakeholders.
