Custom Clearance Coordinator – Airfreight or Seafreight

Context & Environment

In 2021, the COMPANY discovered an extensive oil and associated gas field 70 km off the coast of Abidjan, Ivory Coast at a depth of 1,200 metres. It was the first commercial discovery in the country in the past 20 years. We call it fast track and it consists in running the design, authorisation and execution phases in parallel. Another innovative aspect of the project is the reuse of an existing FPSO, modernised and made technologically more advanced to ensure an accelerated start-up, optimising costs and time and minimising the waste of raw materials and construction materials.

Main Activities

Ø Keep contacts with, and give proper support to shipping agencies for the correct clearance in and out of materials, equipment and vessels, tightly liaising with line managers, contract holders and other departments.

Ø Coordinate shipments, liaising with other agents of the Company for relevant details, such as value, time schedule and any other information

Ø Supervise on the correct application of the procedures as well as the respect of the local and international regulation in force concerning import and export

Ø Control the compliance of exoneration letters with conventions and agreements signed between Company and the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire and approve the customs regimes according to the type of material and the place of delivery

Ø In agreement with the hierarchy and the strategy of the Company, define the best transportation methodology and related operations of clearance, of storage, of insurance that applies to a specify incoterms.

Ø Follow up Customs proceedings concerning fines, findings and support the Company during Customs visits;

Ø Manage Customs risk;

Ø Follow up export activities, crude oil, material sales and exportation of Company material and equipment accordingly to Customs regulations;

Ø Follow up Customs escorts for O&G material;

Ø Analyse the different KPI for International transports under his/her/its responsibility and establishing progress/ costs reports;

Ø Expedite, update and follow up shipments with SAP systems;

Ø Maintain, update and strictly follow Transit procedures ;

Ø Elaborate the technical specifications of Freight Forwarding and Clearance contracts

Ø Gives expertise in management of BB, Charter air/seafreights and IMO shipments accordingly to ICAO regulation;

Mandatory Certifications or Diploma:

Ø higher professional education (preferably in Technical or Economics subjects)

Ø Certified for DGN issuance

Skills & Experience:

Ø Masters Customs regulation

Ø master import/exports procedures in the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire

Ø at least 5 years of experience in the logistics-customs and transit field, preferably in O&G business

Ø fluency in English language

Ø Computer literate, particularly in the Office package, and familiarity in learning new software

Ø Deep knowledge of ICAO and IMG regulation

Ø Ability to produce reports

Ø Knowledge of SAP-like software and basics of accountability

Other Observations

  • Duties to be carried out in compliance with Company Code of Ethics and Internal Control System
