1.3 Work Permit

The purposes of the work permit are:

- To prepare an operation with all the entities of the construction site

  • Analyze the risks before starting an operation
  • To ensure that the work to be carried out does not interfere with other operations / work
  • To make the people involved aware of their roles and responsibilities in carrying out the said operation.

For all the following works (non-exhaustive list), an internal work permit will be issued:

  • Installation of the SUB.
  • Greasing of the crown-block (when the mast is raised).
  • Weekly check of the mast.
  • Mast lifting.

• Accumulation unit pressures (KOOMEY unit)

• The ponds

• The positions of the choke manifold, kill line, choke line and stand pipe manifold valves

• Pulse damper pressure

• Watering pump pistons

• The play of the sheave sensor = 5/8''

The assistant driller will be obligatorily present on the floor for the maneuvers as soon as one arrives at the BHA. He will ensure the smooth running of the stacking and unstacking of the BHA.

REMINDERManeuvering times are an important point for most of our customers. However client has security standards which are as follows:

  • Time is saved by preparing the equipment for future operations and not by taking risks with raising and lowering the trim too quickly.
  • The BHAs will be prepared in advance so as not to waste time stacking.

The organization and distribution of tasks between the sounders guarantee an efficient and safe operation.

3. Maintenance

Regular maintenance of all our equipment is a guarantee for the smooth running of operations and therefore a good image of our company vis-à-vis our customers. It is everyone's responsibility to take care of the maintenance and the general and functional condition of our equipment.

3.1 Lubrication

A lubrication book is available in the office of the shift manager. This book indicates which parts must be lubricated and the lubrication frequencies. This notebook is also intended to note the date of the lubrication carried out on the equipment.

3.2 Regular precautions

  • Check that the kelly valve key is present and clearly identified on the drilling floor.
  • Report immediately to the Site Manager any anomaly(s) or non-operation from the crown-block to the basins via the attachment bridge and the shift manager's console.
  • Check the condition of the floor material every day: shims, safety collars, screwing key, etc.
  • Respect the current safety color code on all slings and shackles used.
  • Ensure that once a week, when lubricating the crown block, the rigger carries out a meticulous inspection of the mast and all its component parts (cables, bolts, pins, safety devices and daisy chain). hooking). This operation will be carried out under cover of a work permit.

Ensure that the vibrators are cleaned as soon as the re-drilling or milling operations stop. Once clean, vibrators should be shut down until operations resume. At the DTM, the vibrator canvases will be dismantled and cleaned, a light veil of diesel fuel will be sprayed on them to prevent any corrosion.

  • Ensure the daily cleaning of pump suction strainers during drilling or milling operations and weekly during workover operations.
  • Check, before each operation, the general condition of the operating tools (example: combs of the drill key, combs of the wedges, etc.) as well as the compatibility between the threads of the internal plugs and the gasket used.

Inspect, at the end of each well having required re-drilling, milling or granite-calcium pumping operations, the opening of the BOP doors and the cleaning of the interior elements. Check the linings of the various shutters. This control will make it possible to ensure a permanent functional state of this safety equipment.

3.3 Borehole Pumps

During long-term pumping operations, borehole pumps should be 'listened' to and inspected regularly. Special attention must be paid to abnormal noises (knocks and whistles) and to ensure that the lubrication of the liners is carried out correctly.

Finally, the pre-charge pressure of the pulsation damper must be checked daily.

The minimum pressure read, pump stopped and purge open, must be 700 Psi. Otherwise, the Site Manager should be notified to rectify this degraded situation which could lead to deterioration of our pumps.

4. Report, readings and instructions
