From 5 to 7 October 2026, Oran is hosting the 14th edition of NAPEC, the Africa & Mediterranean Energy & Hydrogen Exhibition and Conference.
The Altea Energy Algeria team, represented by El Hachemi Oukil, Country Manager Algeria, will be attending on 6 and 7 October to meet industry stakeholders and attend conferences focusing on the future of energy in the country.
NAPEC, a major energy event in Algeria
Opening this Monday with more than 450 exhibitors and 230 speakers, the 14th edition focuses on some of the industry’s key challenges: the evolution of the energy mix, security of supply, decarbonisation, energy efficiency, hydrogen and low-carbon energy.
“NAPEC is one of Algeria’s leading international energy events. Every year, it brings together a particularly broad ecosystem of operators, service companies, public and private stakeholders, as well as new entrants to the Algerian market in Oran,” says El Hachemi Oukil, Country Manager Algeria at Altea Energy.
Strengthening our partnerships and connecting with new energy players
“The Algerian market is evolving, with new operators entering the market and new energy projects being developed.
We want to be involved from the earliest stages of these projects so that we can understand their needs and demonstrate our ability to support their operations locally,” explains El Hachemi Oukil.
National and international operators, private companies, service companies, EPC contractors, engineering companies and new market entrants: the Altea Energy team will be at NAPEC to connect with stakeholders across the entire local value chain.
This diversity reflects the range of services Altea Energy provides in Algeria: identifying and providing specialist expertise, consultant and expatriate management, Employer of Record (EOR) solutions, personnel administration, international mobility and support for field operations.
Energy Mix: building on our Oil & Gas expertise
Historically, Altea Energy has primarily supported Oil & Gas projects in Algeria. NAPEC’s growing focus on renewable energy and hydrogen provides an opportunity to better understand how the market is likely to evolve in the coming years and which skills will be needed to support this transition.
“Algeria has significant potential not only in hydrocarbons, but also in renewable energy, hydrogen and projects related to the energy transition.
The evolution of the energy mix does not mean that the expertise developed in Oil & Gas will become obsolete. On the contrary, many of these skills are directly transferable to new energy projects,” says El Hachemi Oukil.
Technical expertise that is directly transferable
Project management, engineering, construction, maintenance, HSE, quality, commissioning, operations, supply chain and industrial site management: the expertise that keeps Oil & Gas projects running is also essential to low-carbon energy projects.
Operating in complex industrial environments with demanding safety and quality requirements remains a common feature of these projects, regardless of the energy source involved.
“Our longstanding expertise in complex industrial environments, our knowledge of the Algerian market and our ability to mobilise both local and international expertise can bring real added value to these new players.
Our ambition is not to limit ourselves to one type of energy. Our role is to support energy projects by providing the expertise they need to succeed,” adds El Hachemi Oukil.
Supporting energy players as their skills requirements evolve
In practical terms, Altea Energy supports the entire mobilisation cycle: identifying expertise, selection, contracting, administrative management, consultant mobilisation and support throughout their assignments in Algeria.
This end-to-end support enables companies preparing new projects to anticipate their human resources needs, while giving consultants the opportunity to leverage their experience across new types of energy projects.
Meet the Altea Energy team in Oran
The Altea Energy Algeria team will be attending NAPEC on 6 and 7 October to meet clients, partners, consultants and new market players.
“For us, NAPEC is first and foremost an opportunity to connect. We are open to any discussion that could lead to new opportunities for collaboration,” concludes El Hachemi Oukil, Country Manager Algeria at Altea Energy.
