[CSR] Altea Energy joins the #2024jeBASCULE initiative for cleaner urban transportation

At Altea Energy, our commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact lies at the heart of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.

As part of our carbon action plan, we are proud to announce our participation to the #2024jeBASCULE initiative, marking an important milestone in our journey towards a greener future.

What is the #2024jeBASCULE initiative?

Launched on July 4, 2024, by Hype, the Official Taxi Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, #2024jeBASCULE aims to transform urban transportation by prioritizing zero-emission vehicles.

This campaign, supported by the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, brings together public and private stakeholders to address the pressing public health and environmental challenges of air and noise pollution.

The initiative builds on the progress achieved during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, demonstrating that cleaner mobility solutions can make cities healthier and more livable.

Why is Altea Energy Getting Involved?

Transportation remains one of the main contributors to urban pollution. Taxis and ride-hailing services still rely heavily on combustion engines, including hybrids, which continue to emit harmful pollutants.

By joining #2024jeBASCULE, companies like Altea Energy commit to prioritizing zero-emission vehicles—when available at comparable quality and pricing—thus encouraging the transition to cleaner alternatives.

Through this initiative, we reaffirm our dedication to sustainability and align ourselves with global efforts to combat climate change and reduce urban pollution.

Our Low-Carbon Journey

Our participation to the #2024jeBASCULE complements our existing CSR strategy, which includes:

  • Annual carbon footprint analysis: Conducted annually in collaboration with Sami, we evaluate the emissions of all our subsidiaries.
  • Ambitious emissions reduction targets: As highlighted in our 2023 Carbon Footprint Report, Altea Energy aims to reduce emissions by 7% annually until 2030, in line with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the Paris Agreement.
  • Deployment of a robust action plan: Since September 2024, we have been implementing a comprehensive strategy to further reduce our environmental footprint.

Together, we can make a difference

At Altea Energy, we believe that collective action is essential for driving sustainable change.

By supporting #2024jeBASCULE, we join a growing list of organizations—from major corporations to public institutions—committed to accelerating the transition to sustainable urban mobility.

We invite our partners, clients, and peers to join us in supporting this transformative initiative and working together to build a future where our cities are healthier, cleaner, and more sustainable.
