Senior Drilling Supervisor (Day DSV)

General Information

· Work schedule Rotation 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off

· Nationality Open to Expatriates and Algerian Nationals

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all day-to-day drilling and wellsite operations in accordance with the approved drilling program.
  • Monitor drilling operations and ensure activities are performed safely, efficiently, and according to the planned sequence.
  • Coordinate activities between the drilling contractor, third-party service companies, and other wellsite stakeholders.
  • Monitor operational progress, identify deviations from the approved program, and communicate any delays, risks, or operational issues.
  • Ensure that all drilling activities comply with company policies, client requirements, HSE standards.
  • Maintain a strong focus on well control and well integrity throughout the drilling operation.
  • Monitor critical drilling parameters and operational performance and take appropriate action when abnormal conditions are identified.
  • Coordinate and supervise critical operations including, as applicable, drilling, tripping, casing running, cementing, well control activities, pressure testing, logging and other well construction activities.
  • Ensure effective coordination during SIMOPS and other high-risk activities.
  • Verify that equipment, personnel, procedures, and services required for planned operations are available and fit for purpose.
  • Monitor the performance of drilling contractors and third-party service companies.
  • Identify operational risks and opportunities for improved efficiency, safety, and cost performance.
  • Promote a strong HSE and operational excellence culture at the wellsite.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or technical qualification in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control certification - Supervisor level.
  • Significant experience in drilling operations and wellsite supervision, preferably in onshore Oil & Gas operations.
  • Previous experience working as a Senior Drilling Supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of the complete well construction process and drilling operations.
  • Proven experience supervising drilling contractors and multiple oilfield service companies.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Drilling operations
    • Well control
    • Well integrity
    • Casing and cementing operations
    • Directional drilling
    • BHA and drilling systems
    • Pressure testing
    • Rig operations
    • SIMOPS and critical operations
  • Strong understanding of HSE requirements and risk management in a safety-critical environment.
  • Ability to identify operational problems, make sound decisions, and respond effectively to changing wellsite conditions.
  • Experience working with international clients and multicultural teams is an advantage.
