Liaison Team Leader (LTL)

Key Accountabilities and tasks

  • Ensure that the Liaison Team has sufficient organizational capability and competence to deliver Liaison requirements and standards at all levels throughout the client’s.
  • Provide executive assurance, support, guidance and corrective instruction in conjunction with the SAM to ensure that all client project internal and external security standards are achieved.
  • Establish and manage security quality management systems
  • Planning and coordination of land and air transport in remote regions and development of journey management plans.
  • Manage the client Liaison Team across the two businesses ISG and IA.
  • Ensure the Liaison Team is compliant with fit to work medicals and required training qualifications.
  • Management and delivery of security QA/QC systems.
  • Under the direction of the client HSE department assist in providing Root cause analysis and incident investigation.
  • Ensure that in conjunction with the SAM and in cooperation with the ASI that effective communication with local and regional security commanders is maintained.
  • Manager for Incident Management Team covering all types of emergency and crisis response.
  • Budget management and Liaison cost tracking.
  • Participation in the creation of project security plans, routine procedures, travel policy and weekly security reports.
  • QA/QC of Self Verifications/Examinations in line with ISO 9001.
  • Oversee development of site security plans and risk assessments in line with API SRA 780.

Operating environment

Position is located in Algeria. Some travel in Algeria is to be expected and visiting each of the client sites for constant verification is an expectation of the LTL.

IOC peers, Embassies, , Contractors and

Framework, boundaries and decision making

Work is carried out based on client policies, procedures, standard practices and an ethical business stance. Clear boundaries and reporting lines are in place to ensure client requirements are met and also promote “Best practice” within the IOC community.

Required knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies

Basic Qualifications & Knowledge for the position include

  • Demonstrate knowledge of risk and security management processes or related professional area with academic qualifications desirable, practical experience can outweigh.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in corporate risk and security management.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of risk mitigation and analysis as well as physical security systems.
  • Understanding of business continuity model.
  • Working experience from Algeria and North Africa would be highly valued.

Experience and Skills required for the position include

  • Minimum of 15 years in risk and security management, or equivalent.
  • Experience in instruction, training, leadership and/or mentoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluent in written and spoken English; French language skills are a requirement for the position, Arabic Language skills are desirable.
  • Ability to work in multicultural environments and relate with all levels of staff.
  • French reading and speaking ability would be highly valued, not absolute.

Personal Qualities required for the position include: -

  • Highly committed and hardworking security professional with an adaptable approach.
  • Ability to work operationally in a team or independently.
  • Reliable person that can work in a high pressure environment including long working hours.
  • Good communication skills and flexibility to work Stakeholders within the client.
  • Continuous professional development is a key element in developing the team moving forward and this would be an expectation for any potential candidate.
