Insulating & Painting QA/QC Inspector

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all insulation, painting, coating, and passive fire protection activities are executed in compliance with project specifications, international standards, approved procedures, and client quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections for painting, coating, insulation, and passive fire protection (PFP) works throughout all project phases.
  • Verify surface preparation activities, including cleanliness, profile measurements, and environmental conditions prior to coating application.
  • Inspect painting and coating application to ensure compliance with approved procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and project specifications.
  • Monitor insulation installation activities on piping, vessels, tanks, and equipment to ensure proper material selection, installation methods, and workmanship.
  • Conduct dry film thickness (DFT), wet film thickness (WFT), adhesion, holiday, dew point, surface profile, and environmental condition inspections.
  • Witness and document inspection and testing activities in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Review contractor quality documentation, inspection reports, material certificates, and coating records.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required and verify implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure inspection records, reports, and quality documentation are completed accurately and maintained in accordance with project requirements.
  • Verify that coating, insulation, and painting materials comply with approved technical specifications and project documentation.
  • Participate in client inspections, audits, and quality meetings.
  • Ensure all inspection activities are performed in compliance with HSE requirements and project quality standards.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a QA/QC Inspector for Insulation, Painting, and Coating works on EPC projects within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, or Industrial sectors.
  • Experience working on major EPC construction projects is highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of international standards including: NACE, ASTM, ASME
  • Familiarity with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Control Procedures, Method Statements, and Project Specifications.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, coating specifications, and insulation isometrics.
  • Good reporting and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.

  • NACE Coating Inspector Certificate or BGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector Certificate
