ICSS and System Engineer

Job Purpose

Responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of integrated control and safety systems. Also support IT and Telecom systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability across an organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop ICSS philosophy, functional specifications, and architecture.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation: Cause & Effect diagrams, safety logic, and functional analysis.
  • Coordinate with process, instrumentation, and safety teams to ensure system integration.
  • Participate in HAZOP and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) reviews.
  • Manage vendor selection, technical bid evaluations.
  • Supervise the manufacturing and assembly of ICSS/SCADA cabinets.
  • Oversee integration of ICSS into E-houses and ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including loop checks and system energization.
  • Ensure alignment with international standards (e.g., IEC 61511) and project-specific requirements
  • Develop system specifications, network diagrams, and cybersecurity plans.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software procurement and integration.
  • Support the development of control room layouts, server rooms, and communication infrastructure.
  • Conduct system-level design reviews and ensure compliance with project and industry standards.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and commissioning support.
  • Ensure documentation and traceability of system configurations and changes.
  • Collaborate with automation, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure seamless integration.

Professional Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Instrumentation and Controls or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil & gas sector especially in Wellsite, Gathering Station and CPF production facilities.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in EPC project.
  • Experience in ICSS/PLC systems, preferably in oil and gas automation
  • Strong understanding of safety system, DCS, ESD, F&G, SCADA and industrial communication protocols.
  • Familiar with ICSS vendor (i.e. Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson)
  • Fully Familiar with related international design codes, standards & recommended practices (i.e. ISA, IEC, NIST).
  • Familiarity with virtualization, backup solutions, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong management, communication and interpersonal skills to interface with multiple engineering disciplines, local authority.
  • Fluent in English for Listening / Reading / Speaking / Writing.
  • Excellence in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Able to work under pressure, and remote environmental
  • Capable of working independently, efficient, and competent in carrying out duties.
  • Able to travel to the field i.e. Desert camp, CPF site.
  • Flexible, diligent & productive, adaptive
  • Willing to learn, good attitude and work as a team (One team one goal)
