HSE officer at well site (Fields) role is crucial for maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Key responsibilities
Occupational Safety and Health (OH&S) Compliance
- Monitor and enforce compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, emergency procedures, and environmental protection measures.
- Promote the practice of stopping work if there’s a significant danger of an event occurring.
- Participate actively in emergency response teams and coordinate interventions during emergencies.
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary and supervise waste management processes.
Documentation and Training
- Prepare and update specific OH&S documentation, including safety standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Conduct general introductory training on safety and emergency situations for new employees, interns, and visitors.
- Perform preventive inspections to assess compliance with legal regulations and improve safety.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with other departments on temporary or interdepartmental projects related to safety and health.
- Develop and implement HSE plans for projects.
- Draft task-specific method statements and risk assessments in conjunction with supervisors.
Safety Management System
- Adhere to the company’s safety management system.
- Stay informed about relevant environmental, health, and safety statutory provisions and legislation.
Requirement
- Engineering degree (Bac+5) from an engineering school or Master 2.
- HSE management training
- Professional experience: at least 5 years in HSE engineering role in an operating company, with some experience in an integrated services company also acceptable.
- Fluency in Arabic, French and English.
- Good Computer skills.
