Drilling Vessel Superintendent

Location Offshore Suriname (Paramaribo / Drill Support Vessel)

Contract Type Rotational Assignment

Rotation 4 Weeks On / 4 Weeks Off

Work Schedule 7 Days per Week - 12 Hours per Day

Start Date November 2026 (Target)

Duration 3 Years (Renewable - 1 Year Extension Option)

Role Overview

The Senior Drill Support Vessel Superintendent is responsible for supervising and coordinating all Drill Support Vessel (DSV) activities in support of a major deepwater development project offshore Suriname.

The role acts as the Company's representative onboard the vessel, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of offshore marine operations while coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces between Marine, Drilling, Completion, Subsea, UFR, Field Operations, Geomatics, HSE, and Contractor teams.

The position plays a key role in vessel mobilization, operational readiness, COMOPS/SIMOPS coordination, and the successful delivery of offshore support operations.

Key Responsibilities

Vessel Operations:

  • Lead the planning and execution of Drill Support Vessel operations.
  • Act as the Company's focal point for all vessel-related activities.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective offshore operations.
  • Monitor vessel operational performance and minimize non-productive time (NPT).
  • Support vessel mobilization, commissioning, operational readiness, and acceptance activities.

COMOPS & SIMOPS Coordination:

  • Coordinate all COMOPS and SIMOPS activities associated with offshore operations.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between:
    • Marine
    • Drilling
    • Completion
    • Subsea
    • UFR
    • Field Operations
    • Geomatics
    • HSE
    • Contractors
  • Identify operational conflicts and implement mitigation measures.
  • Promote safe simultaneous operations throughout the campaign.

Marine & Offshore Coordination:

  • Coordinate mobilization of:
    • Personnel
    • ROV systems
    • Lifting equipment
    • Service companies
    • Third-party equipment
    • Offshore logistics
  • Review operational programs prior to execution.
  • Validate readiness reviews and operational risk assessments.
  • Review lifting plans and offshore operational procedures.
  • Support engineering integration activities.

HSE Leadership:

  • Act as the designated offshore emergency response representative onboard the vessel.
  • Ensure compliance with Company HSE requirements, marine standards, and international regulations.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities within the assigned offshore area.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among all personnel onboard.
  • Ensure all offshore activities are executed in accordance with Company procedures and industry best practices.

Reporting & Operational Support:

  • Monitor operational performance and provide regular reports to Company Management.
  • Escalate operational risks and critical issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings.
  • Ensure proper coordination between offshore and onshore teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational lessons learned.
HSE Responsibilities
  • Promote and comply with all Company HSE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure offshore marine operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in emergency response activities.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.
  • Support continuous improvement of offshore safety performance.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical qualification in:
    • Marine Operations
    • Offshore Engineering
    • Nautical Science
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Offshore Operations
    • Equivalent discipline
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Vessel Superintendent or Client Representative onboard offshore construction or support vessels.
  • Minimum 5 years of COMOPS/SIMOPS coordination experience.
  • Extensive offshore experience involving:
    • Marine Operations
    • Drilling Support
    • Subsea Construction
    • ROV Operations
    • Offshore Logistics
Certifications
  • Valid BOSIET certification.
  • Valid Offshore Medical Certificate.
