Working Hours 10 hours per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Commissioning Instrument Engineer during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for instrumentation systems.
  • Support loop checking, functional testing, calibration, and verification of field instruments.
  • Assist in inspection and verification of instrument installation according to drawings, specifications, and project standards.
  • Participate in punch listing activities, follow-up actions, and close-out of pending items.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with HSE requirements and project safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with construction, electrical, and operations teams during commissioning phases.
  • Assist vendors and specialists during testing, calibration, and commissioning activities on site.
  • Report technical issues, non-conformities, and deviations to the Commissioning Instrument Engineer.
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and calibration records in good condition and properly documented.
  • Participate in commissioning meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation, pre-commissioning, or commissioning activities.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, gas processing plants, refineries, or energy projects is required.
  • Previous experience on EPC projects is highly desirable.
  • Site commissioning experience in Algeria or similar environments is considered an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of field instruments including:
    • Pressure transmitters
    • Temperature transmitters
    • Flow meters
    • Level transmitters
    • Control valves
    • Analyzers
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Loop diagrams
    • P&IDs
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Instrument datasheets
  • Familiarity with loop testing, calibration procedures, and commissioning checklists.
  • Basic understanding of DCS and PLC systems.
  • Ability to use calibration and testing equipment such as multimeters, calibrators, and loop testers.
  • Knowledge of international standards such as IEC and ISA is an advantage.
