Location: Leibstadt Nuclear Power Plant, Switzerland

Deployment Period: 28 April 2026 - 28 May 2026

Working Schedule: 10 hours per day, Monday to Saturday (60 hours/week)

Job Summary

We are looking for qualified TIG (141) / E-Hand (111) Welders to join our team for the upcoming outage at the Leibstadt Nuclear Power Plant. The role requires experienced professionals capable of delivering high-quality welds in accordance with ISO standards under strict supervision and safety guidelines in a radiologically controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site weld tests under client supervision to validate welding skills.
  • Carry out welding tasks in accordance with the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and instructions from the weld supervisor.
  • Execute fillet and butt welds on plates and pipes using TIG and E-Hand welding methods.
  • Handle and prepare welding consumables, including tungsten electrodes and shielding gases.
  • Prepare seams and clean weld surfaces prior to welding.
  • Conduct visual inspection of welds alongside the welding supervisor.
  • Perform weld repairs as per feedback from NDT inspections (PT & RT).
  • Assist steel and pipe fitters with assembly tasks where needed.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Valid ISO 9606-1 welding certificates (TIG 141 / E-Hand 111).
    • Welders must have performed tested welds within the last 6 months.
  • Qualified for visual testing of weld seams.
  • Proficiency in working with materials per ISO/TR 15608, such as:
    • TIG-Pipe: BW 1.1, 8.1, 1/8, 1.2 (various thicknesses and orientations)
    • TIG-Plate: FW 1.1, 1/8 (PF/PD positions)
  • Certified to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Valid radiation passport and medical clearance for work in radiologically controlled areas.
  • Swiss work permit valid for up to 60 hours per week including weekends.

Language Requirements

  • Team Leader and Welding Specialist must be fluent in German or English.
  • Spanish language skills are also accepted.

Team Requirements

  • The welding team must be well-coordinated, self-sufficient, and able to work with a high degree of responsibility and professionalism in a safety-critical environment.
