Context & Environment

In 2021, the COMPANY discovered an extensive oil and associated gas field 70 km off the coast of Abidjan, Ivory Coast at a depth of 1,200 metres. It was the first commercial discovery in the country in the past 20 years. We call it fast track and it consists in running the design, authorisation and execution phases in parallel. Another innovative aspect of the project is the reuse of an existing FPSO, modernised and made technologically more advanced to ensure an accelerated start-up, optimising costs and time and minimising the waste of raw materials and construction materials.

Main Activities

Ø Support Lifting Supervisors in the archiving of information relevant to lifting appliances, providing suggestions relevant to how to fill in Lifting Information System.

Ø Verify and, if needed, produce lifting plans, on the basis of site surveys, inspection of machinery and appliances involved, as well as discussing and clarifying all difficulties of operators, liaising with Lifting Supervisors.

Ø Support the Lifting Supervisors during the preparation and actual execution of sensitive lifts, in the purpose of tutoring them, if needed staying on site (offshore or onshore) several consecutive days.

Ø Be ready to use “Stop-Work Authority” in case a lift is deemed unsafe.

Ø Report to the management the status of lifting appliances and actual knowledge of operators as well as performances of Lifting Supervisors, highlighting issues and taking actions to correct them.

Ø Liaise with LTA to agree on the strategy to approach issues, and execute instructions as advised by him/her.

Mandatory Certifications or Diploma:

Ø Higher professional education (in Technical-civil subjects)

Ø OPITO BOSIET, including Helicopter Escape Training, in course of validity

Ø The following certifications are required, for P.I.C.:

o LOLER & PUWER Awareness course

o OPITO approved Banksman/signaler Stage 3

Skills & Experience:

Ø Computer literate, particularly in the Office package, and familiarity in learning new software

Ø Working knowledge of English and French language

Ø At least 10 years’ experience in lifting-related jobs
