REPORTS TO: TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT MANAGER
Purpose:
– To ensure corrosion rate is measured, monitored and minimized in all production systems including gathering pipelines and manifolds, Gas Treatment Plant (GTP) and export pipeline.
– To conduct predictive and preventive maintenance tasks as well as troubleshooting on corrosion control of the production systems and process facilities.
– To plan and supervise all activities required to accomplishment with national regulatory standards related with pressure vessels and pressure pipes; including periodical inspections, hydrostatic tests, and repairs.
– To coordinate and manage Corrosion and inspection Team.
Main Accountabilities:
§ To define corrosion monitoring routines ensuring coverage of all production system and Gas Treatment Plant.
§ To ensure corrosion rate readings of the various systems installed in the Production System and GTP are duly collected and timely reported.
§ To ensure that any non-compliance identified during corrosion monitoring routine is promptly reported.
§ To manage Corrosion Management Contract (Chemical treatment Contract).
§ To define in coordination with production department, chemical treatment strategies.
§ To evaluate and prepare technical recommendations for corrective actions as required, such as partial replacement of pipe, vessels repairs, etc.
§ To supervise operation and maintenance of Cathodic Protection systems.
§ To troubleshoot, test, maintain, install and repair corrosion control systems and equipment for the production system and GTP.
§ To define technical scopes of work and manage external services when they are required.
§ To ensure corrosion monitoring equipment and instrumentation is maintained properly and certified at all times.
§ To actively participate, lead and promote Company’s HSE program(s) among collaborators, co-workers and sub-contractors.
Skills/Technical Competences and Experience:
§ Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Metallurgy Engineering or equivalent.
§ Minimum 5-years of working experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry in the Technical Inspection Field.
§ Knowledge of applicable Piping, Pipeline and Static Equipment, Design, Erection, Repair, Corrosion Control and Monitoring including experience with industry standards and Codes such as NACE, ASME, ASTM, etc.
§ It will be valued to be in possession of valid certifications like: API 510; API 580/581; ASME Section VIII, Div I Pressure Vessel Code.
§ Familiarity with the use of corrosion monitoring equipment and databases.
§ Knowledge Chemical Treatment and corrosion management.
§ Knowledge in welding procedures and industrial standards including WPS, PQR, WQTR, etc. Knowledge in radiography testing and interpretation, welding and NDT inspection techniques, highly required.

§ Knowledge of cathodic protection systems Highly required.
§ Knowledge of general concepts, practices, and procedures of Process Safety.
§ Highly motivated, organized and good communication skills.
§ Fluent in French and intermediate level in English with listening and speaking skills.
