· Work schedule: Rotational 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off (1 week on day shift and 1 week on night shift)

Job Description

Responsible for monitoring and controlling the operation of the Station Boosting Centre (SBC) from the Central Control Room to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient gas compression and processing operations. Operates the plant through the Distributed Control System (DCS) and coordinates closely with field operators and shift supervisors during normal operations, start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas boosting and compression systems from the control room using the Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Monitor key process parameters including pressure, temperature, flow rate, and compressor performance.
• Control process equipment such as compressors, pumps, valves, and auxiliary systems to maintain stable plant operations.
• Start up, shut down, and adjust plant operating conditions according to approved operating procedures and safety standards.
• Respond to alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and emergency situations to ensure plant safety and operational continuity.
• Coordinate closely with field operators to perform operational activities, inspections, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Monitor and control turbo-compressors and gas boosting units to maintain required gas pressure levels for downstream processing and transmission.
• Record operational data, maintain control room logs, and prepare daily operational reports.
• Participate in commissioning, start-up, and performance testing activities when required.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures.
• Communicate effectively with shift supervisors, maintenance teams, and other departments to resolve operational issues.

Technical Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Control Room/Board Operator in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Technical Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of DCS platforms (e.g., Honeywell Experion or Yokogawa Centum VP or Emerson DeltaV).
  • Understanding of Centrifugal Compressor maps and surge control logic.
• Familiarity with Gas Turbine operations (Frame 5 or similar).
• Education: Diploma or Degree in an Engineering field (Automation, Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, etc.).
