Senior National Operations Liaison Supervisor (SNOLS)

SNOLS Key Accountabilities and tasks

  • Responsible for all associated developments, translations and Arabic communication, procedure.
  • Provides support to TL during the recruitment, training, development and mentoring of LNL recruits.
  • Proactively take part in QAQC of security provisions, at all locations when present on site. To include periodic night time control of QA/QC.
  • Participate in Security Examination Reports, at all locations when present on site.
  • Ensure Health and Safety stand downs, stop work promotions and communication events are carried out.
  • Ensure leadership and representation are used at a practical level to encourage best practice performance throughout the national team.
  • Assist in Crisis and Emergency Response planning and preparation, as and when required.
  • Participate in risk assessments and assist developing and executing consequent training and assurance plans. To include advice to the RET OLS on Algiers topics.
  • In coordination with the SSI, provide Liaison services between the Client and Algerian Police, military and Civil Authorities with the respect to the protection of the client's operations.
  • Point of contact to Staff Logistics for national team administration, in line with the Team Leader.
  • Compile a daily news (open source) summary of socioeconomic reporting for Algeria and the region.
  • To monitor Arabic-language media and social media (open source) and provide an objective English language summary to the TL and SAM when appropriate.
  • Support the client Algiers operations if circumstances and activities require temporary Liaison support in Algiers.
  • Provide support to ISG and IA field locations under direction of relevant site OLS, if operations require manning outside of current Liaison manpower.

Operating environment

Position is based at client sites as required, with some travel in Algeria to be expected and visiting each of the client for familiarisation will be a requirement. The SNOLS shall ensure practices and work routines in accordance with government regulations, company processes and procedures and ethical standards.

External contacts (i.e. outside)

IOC peers, Embassies, Emergency Services Companies, Contractors and Members of the general Public.

Framework, boundaries and decision making

Work is carried out based on client polices procedures, standards practices and an ethical business stance. Clear boundaries and reporting lines are in place to ensure JV requirements are met and also promote “Best Practice” within the IOC community.

Required knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies

Basic Qualifications & Knowledge foe the position includes:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of risk and security management with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in security management or HSE environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in corporate risk and security management, preferably with some experience outside of Algeria.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of risk mitigation and analysis as well as physical security systems.
  • Recognised International qualifications in security management or HSE qualifications.
  • Understanding of business continuity model.
  • Auditor trained according to ISO 9001.
  • Must be MIRA qualified, or equivalent advanced medical training for remote areas at all times.
  • Working experience from Algeria and North Africa would be highly valued.

Experience and Skills required for the position include

  • Minimum of 10 years in risk and security management, or equivalent.
  • Must have relevant security experience from military, police or industry which enables him/her to deliver in the position from a professional capacity.
  • Experience in instruction, coaching, training and/or mentoring.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken Arabic, French and English.
  • Experience in leadership and management including team and personal development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment and related with all levels of staff.

Personal Qualities required for the position include

  • Highly committed and hardworking security professional with an adaptable approach.
  • Ability to work operationally in a team or independently.
  • Reliable person that can work in a high-pressure environment including long working hours.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work with local internal security units and local armed forces elements.
  • Continuous professional development is a key element in developing the team moving forward and this would be an expectation for any potential candidate.
