Senior Drilling Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Drilling Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing drilling operations in onshore locations. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise, managing drilling programs, and ensuring safe and efficient execution of drilling activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead drilling engineering efforts, including planning, designing, and executing drilling programs.
• Conduct feasibility studies and wellbore trajectory designs to optimize drilling operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop cost-effective drilling strategies and solutions.
• Monitor drilling performance and implement enhancements to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drilling personnel.
• Analyze drilling data and recommend improvements to enhance well productivity and reservoir performance.
• Liaise with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to procure equipment and services necessary for drilling activities.
• Participate in risk assessments and contingency planning to mitigate potential drilling hazards and challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in drilling engineering, preferably in onshore operations.
• Proficiency in drilling software such as Landmark, WellCat, DrillWorks, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of drilling techniques, well construction principles, and drilling equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage drilling projects from conception to completion.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
• Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship in all aspects of drilling operations.
