Onshore Subsea Support Equipment Module Construction Lead

Main Responsibilities Construction & Site Management
  • Ensure effective on-site execution of construction plans and overall management of the construction process.
  • Follow up fabrication, assembly, module integration and testing activities performed by W-Industries.
  • Ensure that all engineering, procurement, construction and testing activities performed by W-Industries are completed in a timely manner and to the required level of completion for final delivery.
  • Coordinate and manage on-site activities as agreed with the OSSEM Package Lead.
  • Coordinate resources within the construction team and guarantee permanent Company presence in fabrication yards.
  • Ensure consistency of design with construction and testing plans.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops with contractors.

Mechanical Completion & Equipment Delivery:

  • Ensure that the components included in the package, including chemical boosting/injection pumps, hydraulic power units, etc., are mechanically completed and delivered according to the project schedule and Company and Project quality standards.
  • Confirm the mechanical completion of items included in the scope.
  • Maintain focus on the final product and ensure delivery in line with Company expectations regarding safety, cost, schedule and quality.

Testing

  • Monitor construction and iFAT activities on site.
  • Witness FAT / EFAT / SIT activities.
  • Ensure testing activities are completed according to the required Project and Company standards.

Engineering & Technical Documentation

  • Review project documentation produced by Contractors, including:
    • GA drawings
    • Assembly procedures
    • Testing procedures
    • Packing plans
    • Transportation plans
  • Provide feedback to the OSSE Package Leads.
  • Work in a cross-functional manner with Package Leaders and the Quality Team to achieve technical solutions meeting the requirements of the concerned entities.

Procurement & Materials:

  • Ensure respect of the procurement plan.
  • Ensure, with the support of the QA/QC Team, that materials and components received on site and their associated documentation comply with project specifications.

Quality / QA/QC:

  • Coordinate one QA/QC Inspector.
  • Work closely with the QA/QC Team to ensure compliance with Company and Project quality requirements.
  • Ensure materials, components and associated documentation comply with project specifications.
  • Support and monitor the required quality controls throughout fabrication, integration and testing.

Planning, Progress & Reporting:

  • Monitor construction progress and iFAT activities on site.
  • Monitor planning progress and reporting.
  • Follow the planning and reporting system implemented by the Contractor.
  • Provide daily updates by email to the MzLNG OSSEM Package Lead.
  • Produce a weekly report for the Project Team.
  • Issue regular updates on activity progress with support from the permanent QA/QC Inspector.

Logistics:

  • Coordinate with the MzLNG Project Logistics Lead and the Contractor Logistics Team responsible for packaging and shipment.
  • Ensure correct preparation and delivery of equipment.

Change Orders:

  • In coordination with the Package Lead, support the review of Change Order Proposals issued by the Contractor.
  • Focus particularly on execution plans and potential interfaces with other ongoing activities.
HSE Responsibilities & Capabilities

The job holder is accountable for respecting Company and Project HSE rules and requirements and ensuring their application within the scope of responsibility.

The job holder shall:

  • Demonstrate, champion and promote Safety Leadership.
  • Take functional responsibility for the health and safety of personnel working in construction and completions roles, as well as all personnel working on construction and completions worksites.
  • Ensure Company Construction Management personnel are appropriately trained to apply HSE Plans and associated Company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor HSE performance in the field.
  • Participate in site safety audits.
  • Participate in incident investigations.
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivering the project safely.

Experience

The candidate shall:

  • Have extensive technical, practical and project management experience as a Company Representative, including experience in senior construction management positions.
  • Have experience with construction, integration, testing and final delivery of Topside modules, including:
    • Hydraulic power units
    • Electrical power units
    • Control stations
    • Chemical injection systems
    • Subsea production system components
  • Have good knowledge of subsea production system design codes and standards used for design, manufacturing and testing.
  • Have experience with planning, progress analysis and reporting.
Desirable Criteria
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in site construction management, with a proven track record in similar positions.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in subsea EPC projects.
  • Proficient level of knowledge and experience in safe working practices on offshore construction projects.
  • Thorough understanding of the onshore/offshore construction environment.
  • Excellent organisational ability and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient presentation skills.
  • Ability to represent the Company and Project professionally and in an organised manner in front of third parties and other stakeholders.
  • Team player capable of working autonomously.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem-solving situations.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to multitask and work as part of a small and flexible team.
  • Fluency in English.
Education & Qualifications
  • Secondary and tertiary engineering qualifications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree as a minimum.
  • Internationally recognised Professional / Chartered Engineer status.
