Grit Plaster Technician

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled Grit Plaster Technician to join our team in the Oil & Gas Downstream sector. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in construction and commissioning environments, with a focus on grit blasting and plaster application for industrial surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for grit plaster application through cleaning, abrasive blasting, and surface profiling.
• Operate grit blasting machines and tools effectively and safely.
• Mix and apply grit plaster to required surfaces in accordance with technical specifications.
• Sand, smooth, and finish surfaces to meet project and quality standards.
• Inspect work areas, identify defects or surface inconsistencies, and apply corrective techniques.
• Interpret and follow technical data sheets, painting specifications, and safety procedures.
• Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with HSE regulations, site-specific safety protocols, and industry best practices.
• Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to project schedules.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in grit plastering or abrasive blasting, particularly within refineries or petrochemical plants.
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques, grit machine operation, and finishing methods.
• Familiarity with abrasive blasting standards, coating systems, and inspection/testing of treated surfaces.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents, TDS (Technical Data Sheets), and project specifications.
• Physically fit and capable of working in challenging environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
