Job Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled Grit Plaster Technician to join our team in the Oil & Gas Downstream sector. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in construction and commissioning environments, with a focus on grit blasting and plaster application for industrial surfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for grit plaster application through cleaning, abrasive blasting, and surface profiling.
- Operate grit blasting machines and tools effectively and safely.
- Mix and apply grit plaster to required surfaces in accordance with technical specifications.
- Sand, smooth, and finish surfaces to meet project and quality standards.
- Inspect work areas, identify defects or surface inconsistencies, and apply corrective techniques.
- Interpret and follow technical data sheets, painting specifications, and safety procedures.
- Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with HSE regulations, site-specific safety protocols, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to project schedules.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in grit plastering or abrasive blasting, particularly within refineries or petrochemical plants.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques, grit machine operation, and finishing methods.
- Familiarity with abrasive blasting standards, coating systems, and inspection/testing of treated surfaces.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, TDS (Technical Data Sheets), and project specifications.
- Physically fit and capable of working in challenging environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
