GIS Installation Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation, erection, and assembly of 220 kV and/or 400 kV GIS equipment on site.
• Ensure all installation works comply with Siemens Energy procedures, approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and HSE requirements.
• Coordinate GIS installation teams, subcontractors, and site interfaces.
• Supervise mechanical assembly, alignment, torqueing, gas handling, compartment checks, and cleanliness requirements.
• Monitor installation progress and ensure work is completed according to the project schedule.
• Identify technical and installation issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Ensure proper completion of installation checklists, inspection records, punch lists, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with the commissioning team to ensure GIS equipment is ready for testing and handover.
• Support inspections with the client, consultant, Siemens Energy representatives, and KAHRAMAA when required.
• Liaise with the project management team and relevant site authorities regarding installation activities.
• Ensure safe working practices are maintained throughout all GIS installation activities.

Mandatory Requirements

• Previous experience on KAHRAMAA projects in Qatar is mandatory.
• Valid Siemens Energy GIS certification is mandatory.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in high-voltage substation projects.
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience supervising GIS installation, preferably at 220 kV and/or 400 kV.
• Proven experience with company GIS, preferably 8DQ1 and/or 8DN9.
• Valid company GIS installation certification or recognized OEM training.
• Strong knowledge of GIS assembly and installation procedures.
• Good knowledge of quality control, HSE requirements, and site coordination.
• Fluent English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
